Problem
You hand outbound to software and worry about three things. The message goes to someone it should not reach. It goes out on a channel you did not choose. It goes out at a volume you never set.
The law does not give you a pass on any of this. The FTC's CAN-SPAM guide states: "The law makes no exception for business-to-business email." [[1]](#sources)
What you need is an outbound approval workflow: a point where a person says yes, and a record of what happened after.
How Outlevo does it
1. Draft the policy. A policy sets who can be contacted, on which channels, how often and with what budget. [[2]](#sources) Outlevo asks which countries you sell into and never proposes markets. [[3]](#sources) ICP segments proposed by AI are labelled experimental until a person approves them. [[3]](#sources)
2. A person approves it. Nothing is sent outside a policy that a person approved. [[2]](#sources)
3. Every action is checked and recorded. Every external action is checked against the approved policy before it runs, and recorded in a ledger. [[2]](#sources)
4. You can stop it. Kill switches pause a campaign, a channel or the whole workspace at once. [[2]](#sources)
Other safeguards around the policy:
- Mailboxes. Before a Smartlead campaign sends, every mailbox must be connected and warmed up. Its domain must have SPF, DKIM and DMARC checked in the last 7 days. [[4]](#sources)
- New managed mailboxes. A new mailbox sends nothing until it is warm, which takes at least 14 days and usually about 3 weeks. [[5]](#sources)
- LinkedIn. Automatic sending is included on Growth and Managed. On other plans the invitations and messages are drafted for you to send by hand. [[6]](#sources)
- Replies. With Calendly, the answer to an interested reply waits in Replies for you to send. On autopilot it goes at once. [[7]](#sources)
- Ads. In Reddit Ads, nothing spends until an owner or marketing approver sets the caps, and a kill switch stops all ads at once. [[8]](#sources)
- Alerts. Telegram alerts cover hot leads, approvals, problems that need you and credit alerts. Every alert also appears in the app. [[9]](#sources)
Proof
Approval only helps if what you approve rests on evidence.
- A Readiness Card needs at least three observations, each with a source and a date. [[10]](#sources)
- Facts read from a website are kept only when their quote is found on the page. [[10]](#sources)
- Guesses are labelled as hypotheses, never presented as findings. [[10]](#sources)
- Win/loss analysis counts companies, not deals. It labels small samples: under 10 won companies is very low confidence. [[3]](#sources)
Your CRM stays under your control too. In HubSpot, nothing is written until an owner or admin approves the field mapping, and standard HubSpot fields are never edited. [[11]](#sources) In Salesforce, Outlevo writes only its own fields, Readiness Cards and tasks. That integration is a pilot and needs the Outlevo package installed in your org. [[12]](#sources)
On access and data, every customer table is protected by row-level security. [[13]](#sources) Personal data such as email addresses is encrypted at the field level. [[13]](#sources) Staff support access is time-limited and shown in your activity feed, with the reason and the number of changes made. [[13]](#sources)
If you want to work with the records in your own systems, the public API lists policies and ledger among its resources. [[14]](#sources) Metered API calls quote their credit cost first and run only when confirmed. [[15]](#sources)
Next step
Start with the free ICP assessment. It reads up to 5 public pages of your website. [[16]](#sources) It returns facts labelled as verified observations or AI inferences, plus up to 5 experimental segment hypotheses. [[16]](#sources) It also asks which countries you sell into. [[17]](#sources)
Read the facts and hypotheses it returns, correct them, and decide what you are willing to approve.
When you are ready to run campaigns, see how Outlevo works and pricing. Free is USD 0 per month. Builder is USD 29 per month with 320 credits. Growth is USD 149 per month with 1650 credits. Managed is priced per contract. [[18]](#sources)
