SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker
The checks Outlevo runs on a sender domain before anything is sent, explained. DNS lookups only; nothing about your domain is stored.
What it checks
- SPF: exactly one record, the services it authorizes, the 10-lookup limit, and how it ends (~all or -all).
- DKIM: a public key at your provider's selector, or at the common ones if you leave it blank.
- DMARC: the policy, whether you receive reports (rua), and the next step to tighten it.
- MX: where replies go, and which provider you appear to use, with its setup guide.
Questions
Why do these records matter for outbound?
Gmail and Yahoo require SPF or DKIM for all senders, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC for bulk senders. Without them, mail lands in spam or is rejected.
Do you store the domains I check?
No. The check is a set of DNS lookups answered on the spot; only a rate-limit counter for your network is kept.
Where do I fix a problem?
In your DNS host, using the records your email provider documents. The result links to the guide for the provider we detect.
Outlevo runs these checks before every campaign
A sender that fails them is held, with the reason, until it is fixed.
