Outbound by industry
Outbound for consulting firms
Consulting sells on trust, so the cold email has to show judgment: one event on the prospect’s own pages that usually creates a project, and one small first step that is not a proposal.
Who buys
The roles that sign, evaluate or veto when you sell as one of the consultancies and professional services firms.
Executive who owns the problem
The VP or COO whose area the event touches; they sponsor and fund projects.
Chief of staff or head of strategy
Runs special projects and finds outside help for them.
CEO at a small or mid-size company
Hires advisors directly for turning points.
Head of transformation or PMO
Evaluates vendors for large programs.
Which companies fit, and how to check
Four tests, each answerable from a public page before you spend anything on a contact.
| Test | Where to check it |
|---|---|
| It is going through the event you advise on | News on a merger, a new market entry, a leadership change or a new product line. |
| It lacks the internal team | The leadership or careers page shows no function dedicated to the topic. |
| It is in your sector | The site or customers page names the sector you have cases in. |
| It has the budget | A scale you can read from the size of the team, the number of offices or recent funding. |
Public buying signals to look for
Dated, quotable events on the prospect’s own pages.
| Signal | Page | What it can mean |
|---|---|---|
| A merger, acquisition or divestiture | News page | Integration work and operating-model questions open at once. |
| A new executive appointed | Leadership or news page | A new leader reviews and often brings in outside help in the first months. |
| A new market or country | About or news page | Market entry and operations questions. |
| A transformation role posted | Careers page | A program has started and needs extra capacity. |
| A published strategy or annual report | Investor or about page | Stated priorities you can quote, and offer to help with one. |
What to say
- Quote the event and tie it to one question your clients usually face next.
- Name one relevant case in their sector if you may.
- Offer a short working session or a one-page view, not a proposal.
What to avoid
- Long credentials paragraphs.
- Naming clients without permission.
- Telling them what their problem is before asking.
A sample email
Every fact about the prospect sits next to the quote and the page it came from.
Illustrative. Alder Logistics Group (alderlogisticsgroup.example) is an invented company, and so is Claire at Meridian Advisory. The pages quoted do not exist. The email goes to its COO.
| What the email says | Quote on the page | Page (illustrative) |
|---|---|---|
| your news page announces the acquisition of Coastline Freight | “Alder Logistics Group completes the acquisition of Coastline Freight.” | alderlogisticsgroup.example/news |
| a Director of Integration role is open | “Director of Integration, reporting to the COO” | alderlogisticsgroup.example/careers |
Subject: After the Coastline Freight acquisition
Hi {{first_name}},
Your news page announces the acquisition of Coastline Freight, and your careers page lists a Director of Integration reporting to you.
After a deal like that, the question is usually which network overlaps are worth fixing first. We help operating teams rank them.
Would a one-page view of how other teams sequence it help? If not, no reply needed.

How Outlevo would run it
- 1
Read your site
It reads your own pages and drafts who you sell to, starting from tests like “it is going through the event you advise on” and “it lacks the internal team”.
- 2
Find and research
It finds companies that fit and reads each one’s own pages: news page, leadership or news page and about or news page.
- 3
Write with quotes
Each email says only what a page said, such as “your news page announces the acquisition of Coastline Freight”, with the quote and page kept beside it.
- 4
Send with limits
Addresses are verified, every email carries your opt-out line, and sending stops when bounces or complaints rise.
