Cold email template for a VP of Sales
A VP of Sales reads your email as a sample of your product. Keep it short, specific and sourced, as short as the one they would want their own reps to send.
When to use it
- Their careers page shows sales hiring or a named sales tool.
- You sell to revenue teams.
- You want to test a role-specific opener.
The template
Copy it, then replace the brackets with what you read on their pages.
Subject: Your [number written as a word] open sales roles
Hi {{first_name}},
[The careers page] lists [the sales roles]. Teams growing like that usually find [the sales-process problem] before anything else. We [what you do].
Would a short note on what we check first help? If not, I will stop.
[your first name]Outlevo adds your sender name, postal address and a one-click unsubscribe link under every email it sends, so a template ends at the sign-off.
{{first_name}},{{company_name}}and{{job_title}}are filled for each contact.- Anything in [square brackets] is yours to write, from a page you read.
Why it works
- It leads with a sales hiring fact, which is the reader’s own world.
- It is short enough to be the kind of email the reader values.
- It names a process problem, not a quota promise.

|---|---|---|
| your careers page lists three Account Executive roles | “Open roles: Account Executive (three), Sales Engineer, RevOps Analyst.” | harborsaas.example/careers |
Subject: Three Account Executive roles at Harbor
Hi {{first_name}},
Your careers page lists three Account Executive roles, a Sales Engineer and a RevOps Analyst.
Teams growing like that usually find lead routing breaking before anything else. Routewise checks routing against the accounts each rep owns.
Would a short note on what we check first help? If not, I will stop.

When should I not use the to a vp of sales template?
This template and its variants pass the check Outlevo runs on its own outbound emails: only known merge tags, no number without a source, no spam wording, at most one link, no fake “Re:” or “Fwd:”, and under a hundred and twenty words.
