AI prompt template
AI prompt to identify the right buyer at a company
Wrong person, wrong email. The prompt chooses a buyer only from titles the company has published and explains the choice with a quote.
When to use it
- You have a team, about or leadership page for the company.
- You know which function owns your problem.
- You want a second opinion on a contact before you buy it.
The prompt
Paste it into the model you use, then replace each bracketed input.
We sell: [WHAT_WE_SELL]. The problem belongs to the [FUNCTION] function. Using only the pages below, name the person or role most likely to own it. Give: name and title as written on the page, a verbatim quote, the page address, and the reasoning in one sentence. Also name one backup. If the pages do not name a role or person in this function, do not guess from the company’s size: write "not found". Never invent a name or a title. [PAGES]
| Input | What to put there |
|---|---|
[FUNCTION] | The function that owns your problem. |
[WHAT_WE_SELL] | What you sell. |
[PAGES] | Team, leadership, careers and about pages with addresses. |
Why it works
- Titles come from the company’s own pages, not a database that may be out of date.
- The backup helps when the first choice has left.
- The not found rule prevents a plausible but invented CTO.
An example
Illustrative. The companies and pages below are invented.
Input
FUNCTION: operations WHAT_WE_SELL: dock scheduling PAGES: verityfreight.example/team (illustrative)
Output
First choice: the COO. Quote: "Our COO oversees regional hubs and network operations." Page: verityfreight.example/team. Reason: the page ties the role to hubs. Backup: Regional Hub Manager. Quote: "Regional Hub Manager, Midwest" Page: verityfreight.example/careers. No name appears on either page; name: not found. (Illustrative output on an invented company.)
Variants
Two functions
Using only the pages below, name the most likely owner in the [FUNCTION_A] function and in the [FUNCTION_B] function, each with a verbatim quote and page address, or "not found". Never invent a person. [PAGES]
Check a contact
Does the page text below support that [NAME] is the [TITLE] at [COMPANY]? Answer yes, no or not found, with a verbatim quote and page address. Never assume. [PAGES]
Limits
What are the limits of the pick the right buyer from public titles prompt?
