Cold email template for a CFO
Finance leaders read for cost, risk and proof. The email states one fact from their public pages, one consequence in finance terms, and a scope small enough to be safe to answer.
When to use it
- A funding round, a new entity, a new market or a finance role posting is public.
- You sell to finance teams (spend, billing, close, reporting).
- The company is large enough to have a finance owner.
The template
Copy it, then replace the brackets with what you read on their pages.
Subject: Month-end at {{company_name}} after [the event]
Hi {{first_name}},
[The page] says [the event, in their words]. For finance teams that usually adds [the finance consequence: entities, currencies, audit].
We [what you do], and I can send [a short document that states the scope and how you handle data].
If it is not a priority, tell me and I will not write again.
[your first name]Outlevo adds your sender name, postal address and a one-click unsubscribe link under every email it sends, so a template ends at the sign-off.
{{first_name}},{{company_name}}and{{job_title}}are filled for each contact.- Anything in [square brackets] is yours to write, from a page you read.
Why it works
- It uses finance vocabulary for a consequence the reader recognises.
- It states the scope and offers the data-handling document first.
- A clear opt-out suits a reader who prefers control.

Illustrative. Kiln & Co Ceramics (kilnandco.example) is an invented company, and so is Dev at Closebook. The pages quoted do not exist. The email goes to its Finance Director.
| What the email says | Quote on the page | Page (illustrative) |
|---|---|---|
| your site says you now sell in Canada | “Kiln & Co now ships to Canada, priced in CAD.” | kilnandco.example/shipping |
Subject: Month-end after Canada
Hi {{first_name}},
Your shipping page says Kiln & Co now ships to Canada, priced in CAD. For finance teams that usually adds a second currency to reconcile at month-end.
We automate currency reconciliation, and I can send a one-page document on scope and how we handle data.
If it is not a priority, tell me and I will not write again.

This template and its variants pass the check Outlevo runs on its own outbound emails: only known merge tags, no number without a source, no spam wording, at most one link, no fake “Re:” or “Fwd:”, and under a hundred and twenty words.
